More than a full century ago, the legendary Fred Ward, known as Captain Thunderbolt, evaded the law by escaping into what is now the Barrington Tops World Heritage Wilderness. Now, Camp Cobark offers guided rides through these mountain trails along crystal clear mountain streams. Riders enjoy panoramic views and wildlife sightings in the foothills of the Barrington Tops and Cobark Valley.

You’ll access horses that are bred in the bush, and you will be guided and cared for by our genuine bush stockmen. Have no doubt, you’ll receive an authentic experience! Riders inhabit the essence of the true pioneering spirit as they learn about Australia's history through the present day.

Riding instruction is given before the start of your ride, so you don't have to be experienced to enjoy the thrill of the bush. Beginners are provided a suitable mount to match their capabilities.
